"Writing even once per week can be a chore"
Steve Rubel over at Micro Persuasion offers a worthwhile "bloggerside chat" with Alan Meckler, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Jupitermedia. As Rubel notes, "Alan is [one of] the few publicly traded company CEOs (at least that I am aware of) who blogs.
Meckler says "if [CEOs] see posting as a burden, [they should] stay away from starting a blog." Sage advice, to be sure. Let's face it: most CEOs aren't cut out for regular blogging. Time constraints, for one thing, prevent them from posting with gusto. The truly interesting b-blogs have sprung forth from the grass roots of businesses and organizations. For even though the CEO is the company's figurehead, the rank and file are its heart and soul. //Billy McCormac
